Reducing plastic packaging.

Peracide is already an environmentally friendly product as 1 box of Peracide weighing 4.5kg makes 600L of active solution, saving 98% of shipping emissions compared to ready to use products. It reduces plastic packaging that would weigh 16.2kg if the equivalent solution was held in 5L containers.

We are actively searching for paper tape that is strong enough to support the weight of packaging boxes and do not require the plastic threads that can cause other issues. So far all tape tested has not supported the weight but we are continuing to contact manufacturers of tapes and adhesives.

The packaging required for Peracide is 6 tubs with lids, each weighing ~100g. Directly reducing the plastic content causes the packaging to be too fragile. We are aware of biodegradable paper alternatives that would significantly reduce the plastic content of Peracide and are planning to enter discussions with manufacturers by mid-2023 to see if a tamper evident paper tub would be feasible. We are also searching for a new provider of labels that uses a reduced or no plastic option by the end of 2023.

We are able to offer a collection of complete pallets of tubs to return to our premises for re-use. This can be collected from wherever is convenient for a council depending on order volumes.
