Microbes in drains are a challenge in healthcare as they can harbour many pathogens, including a number of resistant strains. There is growing evidence that drains can be a source of microbial aerosols, leading to repeat infections, and prolonged outbreaks. Regular disinfection of drains is becoming increasingly important as they can be a primary hiding place for a range of pathogens, including resistant strains such as carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales (CPE) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P.Aeru).

Peracide Drain Disinfectant granules generate peracetic acid which is proven to be sporicidal, bactericidal, viricidal, fungicidal, and will break down the protective biofilms so there is no place for microbes to hide.

Containing no chlorine compounds, Peracide granules are formulated to generate peracetic acid when introduced to the drain. Peracide granules contain corrosion inhibitors and are suitable for use on all sorts of drains, sinks and pipework treatments, without the damage and degradation caused by chlorine based disinfectants.
